For AS400 systems that have quite high activity, the use of Journal Cache is needed to speed up the process of writing journals to the journal receiver. By using a journal cache, entries not directly written to disk but to memory first. If several journal entries have been recorded in memory, then they will be transferred to disk.

Command Work with Active Job (WRKACTJOB) are used to show the performance and job status on the system. All job activities on the system can be seen using this command. Many parameters can be used for displaying active jobs. Here are the parameters that I use often:

Job on AS400 has three identification Job Name, User Name and Job Number. Both batch and interactive have this three identifications. Our green screen also has a job name, user name and job number.
